Bloodlines is an information visualization that tracks the different options one could select for a respondent's race across over 200 years of US Census surveys.

Many of my information visualizations rely on census data and I often have to make generalizations with the data to find interesting relationships. This piece analyzes one of the ways we have tracked and generalized our population over time.

Bloodlines shows the lag between a political or cultural shift and an edit to the census forms responding to this change.
